Mr. Goodman serves as President of Meridian Capital Group, overseeing the company across all divisions and markets nationally. In this role he is responsible for managing Meridian’s day-to-day business activities in the mortgage, sales, and leasing divisions including overseeing its existing brokerage force, overall personnel, and many client and lender relationships. Mr. Goodman, working in tandem with Mr. Herzka and Meridian’s senior leadership, works to chart the strategic direction of the firm, expand Meridian’s service lines and geographic reach, recruit talent, and create and foster new corporate level relationships between Meridian and its partners.
Prior to assuming the role of President of Meridian in January of 2019, Mr. Goodman served as President of its Investment Sales division, which was launched in 2015. Additionally, he played a critical role in building Meridian’s retail leasing division, launched in 2018, and retains an active management role in these businesses.
From 2010 through 2014, Mr. Goodman was a senior member of the Real Estate Investment Banking Group at Goldman Sachs. During his tenure at Goldman, he originated and structured more than $5 billion of CMBS and balance sheet lending activity and strategically advised and financed clients including REITs, investment managers, private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds and private investors. Mr. Goodman also served in various leadership roles within his group at Goldman, including helping to manage the group’s business selection, recruitment and staffing processes. From 2008 through 2010, Mr. Goodman worked in the Real Estate Capital Markets Group at the Reznick Group. From 2004 through 2008, Mr. Goodman worked in the Real Estate Finance Group at Credit Suisse First Boston, in both origination and disposition capacities.
Institutional Investment Sales
Helen HwangSenior Executive Managing Director
Ms. Hwang is Senior Executive Managing Director at Meridian Investment Sales, LLC and is head of the Institutional Investment Sales Group. Ms. Hwang has executed over 85 institutional sales and recapitalization transactions exceeding $26 billion in value. Notable recent transactions include: 220 East 72nd Street, Glenn Gardens, 400 Madison Avenue, 88 Leonard Street, and 40 West 14th Street.
Prior to joining Meridian, Ms. Hwang spent 16 years at Cushman & Wakefield as an Executive Vice President, where she worked on several unprecedented complex assignments, including 1865 Broadway, 22 River Terrace, 101 Murray Street, One Court Square, 510 Madison Avenue, 511 Fifth Avenue, the MetLife Building at 200 Park Avenue, 666 Fifth Avenue, the portfolio sale of Park Avenue and 850 Third Avenue, and the ground leases under 625 Madison Avenue, 2 Herald Square and 75 Rockefeller Center. For the sale of 88 Leonard Street, Ms. Hwang was honored with the Real Estate Board of New York’s highest achievement, the 2012 Most Ingenious Sales Deal of the Year (Robert T. Lawrence Memorial Award). She also set numerous pricing records in the development/redevelopment arena in Columbus Circle, Lower Manhattan, Midtown West, West Village, Upper East Side, and Brooklyn.
Ms. Hwang has marketed significant New York assets for clients such as Africa Israel Investments, Ashkenazy Acquisitions, Bank of America, Capmark Financial, Dermot Company, Epic UK, Five Mile Capital, Istithmar, J.E. Robert Companies, Paramount Group, Park Tower Group, Rockrose Development Corp, SL Green, Vornado Realty Trust, and Macklowe Properties. She has been a trusted strategic advisor to numerous prominent New York institutions, including American Bible Society, St. John’s University, Children’s Aid Society, MTA, Verizon, and Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York.
Ms. Hwang was awarded the Top Broker of the Year by Real Estate Forum Magazine, a leading trade publication, and won CoStar’s prestigious Power Broker of the Year award from 2010 through 2014. The Asian American Business Development Center named her one of the 50 Outstanding Asian Americans in Business in 2011. Ms. Hwang also serves as an industry expert guest speaker for numerous conferences and some of the top REIT equity research teams in the nation, including Bank of America Merrill Lynch, ISI Group, FBR Capital Markets & Co, JMP Securities, and UBS.
Ms. Hwang received her Bachelor of Science degree from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration (Real Estate Finance), where she graduated “With Distinction.” She also holds a Master’s degree in Real Estate Investment and Development from New York University. Ms. Hwang is a New York State Certified Real Estate Appraiser and is a New York and New Jersey Licensed Salesperson.

Amit DoshiSenior Executive Managing Director
His experience consists of selling more than 55 million square feet comprising of 63,500 apartments, 2,850 retail and commercial spaces as well as several land development properties in NYC and its boroughs. Mr. Doshi has achieved an average of 40 deals per year throughout his career, including 57 deals in 2005. In 2007, he set the mark even higher, by selling a multifamily portfolio for a single family comprising of 108 buildings for a record price of $295,000,000. From multifamily properties to land assemblages, he has gained a strong foothold by mastering the vagaries associated with rent stabilization, regulatory agreements, complex leaseholds, ground leases and zoning laws. Mr. Doshi was recruited to dispose Real Estate Owned and non-performing loans during the 1990’s banking and real estate crisis for quasi government institutions such as Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC), Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC) as well as many leading Commercial banks, S & L’s and private lenders.
He has been named a “Power Broker” for multiple years by CoStar Research and other industry experts, in recognition of being one of top 10 Brokers in sales transactions. Mr. Doshi received his B.S in Engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is an ardent supporter of numerous charitable causes as well as is a member of many professional organizations.

As a veteran focusing on the Brooklyn market, Adam is often quoted in publications such as Commercial Observer, Wall Street Journal, The Real Deal, Bisnow and Crain’s. Adam graduated with a BA from the University of Rochester in 1997 and received his JD from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2000. Adam practiced as a litigation attorney for 5 years before beginning his career as an investment sales broker at Massey Knakal Realty Services for 6 years and as a partner at TerraCRG for 7 years. Adam serves as a Board of Trustee for the Brooklyn Children’s Museum and lives in Brooklyn with his wife and 4 children.
Mr. Hess will leverage Meridian’s market-leading debt capital markets platform and retail leasing division to further enhance the suite of services he provides to clients and build upon his achievements to date. Specialties: Brooklyn Commercial Real Estate, Multi-Family and Mixed-Use Investment Building Sales and Owner-Financed Building Sale Transactions.

Jonathan ShainbergVice President
Mr. Shainberg joined Meridian Investment Sales as a Vice President in July 2018. Closely working with Amit Doshi and Shallini Mehra on the middle markets team, his specialty is underwriting and sourcing multifamily deals throughout the New York City area. He is responsible for handling all aspects of the transaction process from origination to closing and has developed many new and long-lasting client relationships. In 2019, Mr. Shainberg had closed over $200 million worth of residential buildings in New York, including the prestigious $80 million sale of 140-60 Beech Avenue and 140-30/50 Ash Avenue in Flushing, Queens to Zara Realty. The neighboring buildings span about 250,000 square feet and contain 266 apartments overall. Prior to joining Meridian, Mr. Shainberg worked as an Associate at a boutique investment sales firm, where he was named the company’s 2017 Rising Star. Mr. Shainberg began his career at RBC Capital Markets on the Real Estate Investment Banking desk as an Analyst, where he worked on public and private equity and debt, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged finance, and advisory and valuations. Born in Los Angeles, he is a graduate of Boston University with a B.S. in Finance and Economics.
Seth LevineVice President
Prior to joining Meridian Investment Sales, Mr. Levine practiced real estate law at Capital One Financial Corp., with an emphasis on Agency, CMBS, and mezzanine financing. Mr. Levine started his real estate career as an Analyst for RXR Realty, where he worked on the formation of RexCorp Opportunity Fund II (estimated raise $850 million), the development of The Ritz-Carlton Residences in North Hills, NY, and Baltimore, MD, and the acquisition of the Starrett-Lehigh Building.
Mr. Levine received his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, his M.B.A. from Long Island University, and his B.A. from Yeshiva University.

David married and moved to New York, where he became a leading expert in the EB-5 financing industry, and further pursued his interest in real estate. Prior to joining Meridian, David served as a real estate salesperson at The Corcoran Group and is an active member of REBNY.
Paul PatafioVice President
Prior to joining Meridian, Brian was an Associate Director at Eastern Consolidated, where he arranged the sale of various Manhattan and Brooklyn based properties.
Brian graduated from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University with a degree in Finance and Real Estate Finance.
Prior to joining Meridian Investment Sales, Mr. Kepes worked as an appraisal analyst at BBG, a nationally acclaimed appraisal and valuation firm. In his three plus years, he was responsible for the underwriting and research of all asset types throughout the tri-state area with a concentration on the five boroughs of New York. Before that, he graduated from the University of Michigan, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy with a concentration on Business Policy and Economic Development with a minor in Entrepreneurship.
